CRTA Area V Legislation Chairs,

CalSTRS Board is meeting September 8th and will determine if the SBMA
funds will roll over to the general fund.  Our letters need to reach the
board members prior to that date.  CRTA will be well represented at that
meeting.

Ken Hewitt, State Legislation Chair states:

Do encourage members to write letters during August (I know, that's a
tough
request), so that the Board members see how seriously we take this
threat.
Thanks for the great effort you are making.  I have heard that "plenty"
of
letters are getting through to them.

However, right now, our best judgment is that this could go either way.
So
many of these Board members are brand new, and we just don't know how
they
will go, under pressure.

The CRTA State Legislation Committee meeting is September 9th, so you
will be receiving a "fresh" news regarding the outcome.
