Subject: CRTA Information Line

On Friday, the Teachers' Retirement Board voted to eliminate any proposal
to reduce or restrict the 2% annual improvement factor. In fact, the
Board discussed taking action to further guarantee that retired teachers
receive the 2% annual improvement factor. This issue has been one of the
most significant issues for CRTA. We thank the Board and the CRTA members
who worked to ensure that this benefit would not be reduced.

The Board also voted again to oppose Assembly Constitutional Amendment 23
by Assembly Member Keith Richman. This proposed Constitutional Amendment
would put future teachers' retirement at risk. CRTA opposes Assembly
Constitutional Amendment 23. The vote to oppose was 9 to oppose,
including retired teacher Jerri Harris, two in support (David Crane and
Ann Sheehan) and one abstention, Roger Krotzberg.

CRTA thanks the Teachers' Retirement Board for their support.
