Subject: CRTA Legislative Information Line
The Assembly Public Employees, Retirement and Social Security
Committee
considered and acted upon the CRTA-opposed ACA 23 (Richman). This
bill
would create a two-tiered retirement system for members of STRS
and other
public employees. This proposal has been considered many
times. The
Assembly action was to hold the bill in Committee because there
was not a
second on the motion to vote on the bill. The effect of
being held in
Committee without a second vote is the same as stopping the bill.
Congratulations to CRTA members for stopping this two-tiered
proposal.
