On Wednesday June 7, 2006 the Senate Rules Committee voted to recommend
that the Senate not confirm Mr. David Crane to the State Teachers'
Retirement Board. CRTA and many other education representatives opposed
Mr. Crane's nomination because we believed Mr. Crane had not met the
fiduciary standards for STRS Board membership. The Governor now will need
to make a new nomination and appointment to the STRS Board to replace Mr.
Crane.
